Gardening & Parenting :
From one of the Tamil dailies, i read about a school, which encourages Gardening. ( Alas! how on earth can my parent miss to admit me there ? :-) ) It was a dream thought, i had in my mind. Apart from studies, there are several co-curricular activities that helps build a strong and deterministic mind in students. We can encourage them to collect coins, stamps etc., we can teach them something about "Life Science" which helps them lead a better life at present and in the future. However, our educational system still believes the theory of injecting text books in mind to produce brighter students. thus it makes a parent feel their child's involvement in other activities is unnecessary and waste of time.
I personally feel a parent need to know something about "child growth & parenting" soon after they become a parent. Making all parents attend "Parenting Class" can let them understand small things matters. oops! i started somewhere and tend to go somewhere. feeling drowsy yar, thats why :-). To conclude, i want school to add more extra curricular activities and should encourage a student to actively participate and parents need to co-operate with them. remember that, growing a child to be a better citizen of this nation is everyone's duty.
