Unforgettable Trip ( Wayanad ) :

It wouldn't really have been better, if we had planned to trip Wayanad on some other day. For those who don't know the whereabouts of Wayanad, its a district of God's own Country "Kerala" located near Calicut. Our Trip was packed with lots of Adventures and Fun. We started our joyous trip from Chennai central and reached Calicut in Mangalore Mail overnight. We spent our first day in Tusharagiri. A beautiful waterfall gave us a relaxed feel, both mentally and physically. we spent our time enjoying the chillness of water. The surroundings are very pleasant and it was less crowded. altogether, the day was pretty pleasant and unforgettable. Later we left for Kalpetta, where we booked rooms for our accommodation. In the evening, we went for a small walk around the small town Kalpetta. We were warmly welcomed with greenish houses and blooming flowers. This is something unusual when compared with Big Metros.

On the second day, we went for a trekking to Chembra peak. Our Adventure started here. as far as our eyes could reach, seemed like a paradise. when i reached the top of the hill, i was thrilled. later, a gentle drizzle soothed my eyes. From there we went to Edakkal caves, a natural cave, where stone age people believed to have lived. We couldn't explore much, as it got already late. Had we gone early, we might have got a chance to see the border of three states Kerala, TamilNadu and Karnataka.

On the third day, we went to the Natural dam located some 20 KMs away from Kalpetta. We had a nice time there. A streamer boat ride will take you around the dam. if you are lucky enough, you can see some wild animals. But we couldn't take a ride on it, as we need to wait for some two batches to complete their ride with one boat available. After completing our lunch, we went to Pookot lake and had a boat ride. Finally, we went to soochipara falls. This place was another feather on the cap of Wayanad. though water flow is more when compared with Tusharagiri, none could take bath in the falls, as gush of water could clear you off.

Altogether, we had a very pleasant trip. one need to be careful with leeches which is spread in most part of Wayanad. Thank God that it sucks only bad blood from our body. you can carry cotton and salt all the way to treat you from a leach bite.

My visit to Tirupathi...

It has been a long time, since i blogged. The possible reason is, i lack topics or sometimes i lack interest, but anyway, i would like to thank my colleague senthilganesh who boosted me to write. Last week i went to Tirupathi and had a good dharsan of Lord Venki, whom i missed for nearly an year. I am here to discuss neither the spiritual value nor the tasty laddu, i had :-) ( Laddu is a delicious sweet given to all devotees as "prasadam" ) One thing i found peculiar and unique is their administration. I have been to many places across Tamil Nadu, but have never seen such a clean and well maintained roads. There are two ways to reach the holy hill, one for vehicles from Tirupthi to Tirumala and another for the reverse direction. both ways are maintained well. They have deployed decent amount of buses running at frequent intervals from Tirumala to Tirupathi. They too run free bus service inside Tirumala. They maintain lots of clean toilets and bathrooms. For a pilgrim place which attracts huge amount of devotees. its a welcome move. They have demolished houses adjacent to the temple and have constructed spacious stands. This will be helpful to hold huge amount of devotees during festival time like "Brahmostavam" and "Ratha Saptami". Apart from all these facilities, you can plan your visit well in advance with the help of TTD centre available in major cities across India. altogather, TTD earn a lot and they administrate well to live up to the expectations.

Its hard to read a person's mind:

A good friend of mine, who faced some stress with his work, decided to cool himself down with a different atmosphere and thus he went to Thiruvanmiyur Beach. A day after, i met him. He was more joyous and expressed his extreme happiness over the visit. He also told me that he has decided to visit the place regularly. For a moment, i am amazed with the change i saw in him and i started to praise the cool breeze and the roaring tide's contribution for a quick mind change in him. but wait....he didn't complete the drama. He was amazed not because of the above said reason. He noticed a Father playing a game with his small daughter when his wife is around. My friend showed keen interest and listened to them carefully. The rule of the game goes like this, each of them need to think a color in their mind and should start counting the number of persons who wear that colored dress. The person who counts more person for the color they thought is declared the winner. So my friend is actually amazed with the ability of the father to see "colors" with his daughter, in front of his wife :-)

Jaspal Rana

"I do not have big expectations for myself in Doha but I will give my best shot"

These were the words, Jaspal Rana spoke, before leaving for Doha, to attend the "Asian Games". He slammed the government and the Sports Authority of India for providing "shoddy" training facilities.

But today, he was chosen as the "Best Sportsperson" among the 10,000+ competitors in the game. He is the first Indian to get this honour. In spite of his illness, he bagged three gold medals and equalled the world record in centre fire competition. He made me feel proud to be an Indian.

Gardening & Parenting :

From one of the Tamil dailies, i read about a school, which encourages Gardening. ( Alas! how on earth can my parent miss to admit me there ? :-) ) It was a dream thought, i had in my mind. Apart from studies, there are several co-curricular activities that helps build a strong and deterministic mind in students. We can encourage them to collect coins, stamps etc., we can teach them something about "Life Science" which helps them lead a better life at present and in the future. However, our educational system still believes the theory of injecting text books in mind to produce brighter students. thus it makes a parent feel their child's involvement in other activities is unnecessary and waste of time.

I personally feel a parent need to know something about "child growth & parenting" soon after they become a parent. Making all parents attend "Parenting Class" can let them understand small things matters. oops! i started somewhere and tend to go somewhere. feeling drowsy yar, thats why :-). To conclude, i want school to add more extra curricular activities and should encourage a student to actively participate and parents need to co-operate with them. remember that, growing a child to be a better citizen of this nation is everyone's duty.

Take Care of Yourself...

I felt bored and inactive with my work in the recent past. i tried to overcome with proper rest and thought my improper food intake is the main reason. thus i recharged myself at proper interval. still, i couldn't feel any change within me. days went on and later i realised that lack of physical activity leads to such odd behavior. Then after, i started doing some stretch up's in the evenings for nearly an hour. that brought some good change within me and now i feel more comfortable and energetic throughout the day.

Office goers spend most of their time sitting in a chair. They don't care for their back, thus after a period of time, they unneccesarily invite back pain and other aches. This can be avoided with a normal and regular stretch up. I am writing this with my personal experience. so guys and gals, take care of your body because you are earning to lead a happy and healthy life. Life is precious. Live it!
